Master Deck Framing

Recently completed framing for the master deck. Very happy with how the support post turned out.

Tree House

Taken at noon from the master bedroom. The sun was directly overhead and not low enough in the horizon so that the room was actually well-shaded by the roof and quite comfortable, with a slight breeze blowing.

Sunny side up

View of the south-facing walls. Those trees give some much needed cover later in the afternoon but the third floor will need some decent solar shades as it is above the tree line. The large square metal post leaning against the wall will be providing support for the third level deck off the master bedroom.

Northwest Wall

Here is a view of the northwest wall showing the future location of the front entry door (middle floor left) as well as the stairwell (empty space on right side). The openings for the master bath windows are also visible (top floor left).

Too Close for Comfort

The north side of the house came in a little too close to the tree so we had to make some modifications to the original design. The covered porch has been cut short instead of connecting with the covered entryway along the northwest wall.
Tree 1, House 0.

Can't Wait to Move In

Viewed from the third level master bedroom, dusk looks like this.

Exactly 4 feet

Raymond measuring the cantilevered balcony off the third level. What he plans on doing with these measurements, nobody knows.
